Our Cookery Demonstrations demonstrates Sri Lankan cuisine where you could learn and cook famous local dishes such as dhal (Sri Lankan lentil curry), Coconut Sambol, Chicken Curry or anything else you wish to learn by using the traditional clay pots and coconut spoons. Cooking classes are held in a secluded corner of our spice garden where you could learn these dishes with the surroundings of nature.
Even if we teach them according to traditional and authentic methods we give you alternative suggested ingredients where you could cook them yourself at home. As a complimentary offer we teach you how to make yourself a Sri Lankan curry powder with fresh spices! Before the demonstration you will be able to pick some of the fresh ingredients from their natural habitat and learn the Ayurvedic benefits of each spices and herbs used.
After the demonstration, you will have an authentic Sri Lankan lunch served at our restaurant “Aroma” surrounded by a lush cinnamon plantation. To round off the activity you could also visit our outlet which has an impressive spice and herb collection which is packed for your convenience to take them back home.
